About

Yesterday
Interstate Bowl was built in 1960, when drive-in movies and Friday night football games were the only places you had to take a date.
In 1973, Bill Jessee leased the business and set out to provide area young people a great place to hang out and enjoy one of the fastest growing sports of the time.
In 1975, Bill and his son Jerry, actually purchased the business and quickly began to make renovations, including a freshly paved parking lot and colorful awnings on the building. Many improvements were made over the years as Bill and Jerry strived to keep the center up to date.
During the time between early 1995 and 1996, some of their biggest and best changes were completed. A new automatic scoring system was installed along with powerlift ball returns, and synthetic lanes. Shortly after, brand new state-of-the-art pin-setting machines were added. These still exist at Interstate today.
…And Today
In 2018, Interstate Bowl began an exciting new chapter under the ownership of a family of passionate bowlers from Waynesboro, VA. With a deep love for the sport and a clear vision for revitalization, the new ownership has remained dedicated to thoughtful, ongoing improvements throughout the center.
Guests will notice a number of upgrades, including refreshed seating, enhanced cosmic lighting, updated menu offerings, revamped birthday and corporate party packages, and a fully stocked, professionally staffed pro shop. The arcade has also been upgraded and expanded, now featuring more games and attractions for guests of all ages. These enhancements are part of a long-term commitment to elevating the experience for families, league bowlers, and casual guests alike.
With a strong focus on the next generation of bowlers, Interstate offers a structured youth program and proudly participates in the Kids Bowl Free initiative, giving children the opportunity to enjoy bowling all summer long at little to no cost for their families.
